I suppose if you didn't have a card reader built in or handy this could be a fall back in an emergency situation but doesn't seem to be a work-flow solution in everyday usage in my opinion. Unless i am not seeing something here, i don't see how having to first sync the camera over wifi, run a software program and then hunt for and wirelessly transfer desired filesĬould be any easier or faster than moving the card, even if transferring just a few photos. Maybe it's a good solution for some users in certain situations,īut i can't see it being anywhere near as fast or easy as using my USB 3.O card reader and recent v90 Sandisk cards, especially if you've captured hundreds of largeĭNG file photos and want to transfer all to look them ALL over on a computer screen, especially given the low cost of fast card readers. It looks like this particular software hasn't been updated since 2019. I just took a peek at the Leica Sync software. Heck, so far I can't even find a reference to it other than the link posted by m410. I can't find any reference on-line to the program as far as a review/test. Does this program allow essentially the same file-moving, etc as having the SD card in the computer and is it fast enough to not be hugely annoying while waiting for it to transfer the data? In fact, I am buying a new Pro that DOES have the SD card slot (like my old MacBook Air). I have always just moved the Mem card to my MacBook pro because Leica Fotos seems awkward, slow, and sometimes fails to connect. Then I will create new folders within this folder, for each download. My plan for later today is to create a sub-folder in my Downloads folder, named Leica Sync. I guess I could open the FOTOS app on my phone, download the image(s), then SHARE to my computer, but I prefer to do this with your Leica Sync app. I haven't tried this, but what happens if the connection is broken while an image is being copied? Is this bad, in the same way as removing a memory card without ejecting it first? I then went back in the menu to turn FOTOS back to OFF. I was wondering - is there any indication on the computer or the camera that the utility is still working, or that the images have all been copied? I lost track of how many images were being copied, so I just waited for a couple of minutes of inactivity, and assumed it was done. When I only have a few images to copy over, I expect to do this rather than move the memory card around. It worked fine, and I got to select the best image, then edit it. I tried this "for real" last night, with eight DNG images. Later, you can also create on your computer and specify a dedicated folder as to where you want downloaded images to go. dng files go slow and you are just trying to learn how this all works. Try loading one or two sample images by checking /selecting an image and hit "download" and this will copy the image from your M10 to your computer's designated folder. You should see the sample images available to download from your camera. Click on Connect and then the Browser menu buttons. This should be a good addition to your workflow issue. If any other L-Forum members have other or better details or corrections.join in as I am sure I left something out. You do this in the Leica Sync preferences menu I am showing you below. Hope this helps a bit. Turn on computer wifi and wait for it to find your M10. You should see serial number and the password Leica assigned to your camera on the live view display. Go to your M10, turn it on and find Leica FOTOS in the menu, turn it on. Once it is installed, click on that and add it to your Dock, you can id the program in Dock as it appears as a Leica Rangefinder. Been a while since I loaded the original version but I believe it will load itself into the Application folder if you click on the icon in Download folder.
